Professional

I’m a lifelong technologist. That kid that helped the teacher use the Apple IIe in the corner. Currently, I’m working as Senior Cloud Engineer for Mondelēz International. When I’m not doing that, I’m the co-host of the Teaching Python Podcast. I also provide marketing technology consulting services through my company Red Reef Digital

I’ve done a lot of things in my career.

• Taught middle school computer science and robotics
• Built my own lightsaber
• Run a digital marketing agency/consultancy, Red Reef Digital
• Led a team of field medical reps for radiology services
• Directed marketing for an online nursing school
• Orchestrated one of the first six-figure social media advertising campaigns
• Met Teri Hatcher (She was very nice)

Personal

I’m married with two amazing kids and we live in Boca Raton, Florida, USA. We go on adventures both close to home and hopefully around the world (when the COVID-19 pandemic subsides).

• I grew up in Anchorage, Alaska
• I know how to build a snow cave and an igloo, though I don’t have my own dogsled team
• I love to travel and have visited five continents so far
• I’ve run a few triathalons and even a marathon (not doing that again!)
• My pandemic project was to automate my house using Home Assistant
